Bryant Park turns into its winter self on Wednesday, October 28, 2026, more than a month before the Rockefeller tree is lit. The Bank of America Winter Village has three parts, a rink, a market and a bar, and they close on different dates.
The rink: October 28 to February 28
The centrepiece is a 17,000-square-foot rink with free admission: you skate for nothing in your own skates, or rent a pair there, and the rink also puts on free skating shows. It is open daily, holidays included, from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m., and until midnight from November 19 to January 3. Sessions are reserved on Bryant Park's site.
The Holiday Shops: October 28 to January 3
An open-air market run by Urbanspace along the park's paths, plazas and terraces, in custom-built “jewel box” kiosks, with makers from New York and around the world. Monday to Friday 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., Saturday and Sunday 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., every day including holidays; many shops stay open later at weekends and in peak season. The 2026 directory has not been posted yet.
The Lodge: October 28 to February 28
The rinkside bar and food hall, open air, with full-service bars and food from local places. Daily, 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., and to 11:30 p.m. from November 18 to January 3.
Igloos
Cozy Igloos are private domes for up to eight people: 90-minute sessions with seasonal food and drinks, booked separately and without access to the rink. Early in 2027 they become Rosy Igloos for the run-up to Valentine's Day.
Free admission means the rink is busiest at the obvious times: December weekends and the holiday weeks. The opening weeks, from October 28 into November, are likely to be the quieter stretch, with the ice and the shops already open. From November 19 the rink runs until midnight, and a late weekday session is the way to get ice with room on it in December. Plan the Holiday Shops first if they are the reason for the trip, since they close on January 3 while the rink runs to the end of February.
