The Bronx's winter tradition opens on Saturday, November 14, 2026, and runs to Sunday, January 10, 2027. In the Enid A. Haupt Conservatory, model trains run past nearly 200 replicas of New York landmarks, every one made of plant parts such as palm fronds, pinecones and cinnamon sticks. Outside, more trains run through a lit mountain landscape.
New this year
A replica of One Vanderbilt, the tower beside Grand Central, joins the city in miniature.
Evenings to 8pm
On fifteen dates the show stays open until 8pm, with last entry at 7:15pm and live music: November 27, 28 and 29; December 5, 11, 12, 18, 19, 20, 26, 27, 28, 29 and 30; and January 2.
Sensory-friendly mornings
Two mornings are set aside for visitors who need a calmer show: Saturday, November 21, and Saturday, January 9, from 9 to 11am.
Tickets
The show is included in the garden's All-Garden Pass, which also opens the outdoor gardens. Booking ahead is recommended, and optional only on quieter weekdays. Members have a preview day on Friday, November 13.
The same season in New York
The Rockefeller Center tree is lit on December 2, and the Christmas Spectacular plays Radio City until January 4.
The late evenings fall almost all on weekends and the week after Christmas, which is when the crowds come anyway. For a quieter visit, pick a weekday in the second half of November, before the school holidays, and book ahead anyway. Families with a child who finds crowds hard should take the two sensory-friendly mornings seriously: they are the only sessions built for it.
